Gibraltar – 26th December 2014 – Catalan Bay – Just before the annual Boxing Day Polar Bear swim at Catalan Bay Gibraltar swimmers observed how a Spanish Guardia Civil patrol boat approached the area and stopped close to the shoreline next to a Spanish fishing vessel. Both the Royal Gibraltar Police and Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadrons approached the Spanish patrol boat which was seen to continue approaching Spanish fishing vessels within Gibraltar waters. Spanish fishing boats were observed within Gibraltar waters since 0930hrs on Boxing Day and did not leave the area until after the departure of the Guardia Civil Vessel.
