Colonisation of the Amazonian rainforest in Ecuador; here, the trees have been burnt down in preparation for the construction of a settlement. The site is within the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve but was requisitioned for clearing because of it's proximity to the transport links used by the oil industry. In the distance to the left a hut is being built. An oil pipe runs across the foreground.
