Barr township was organized on August 4, i8i(). the territory beingtaken from the ea^t jiart of Washington townshi]). .iong the early set-tlers of tliis township were Idngh Barr, alter whom the town^hip was COUNTY, INDIANA. 275 Otlier early settlers were James Miint,L;<iiiiery, William Dant, Nicholas Kid-well, J^,^,c?l)ll Miller, JmIhi , John Allison, John U. Kendall and Will-iam Williams.
