Every planter should realize the importance of root crops for cattle, and keep informed on the relative merits of the several varieties. The Giant of the Plains is a mammoth-sized root, growing .nearly one-half above the ground, which makes it easy to harvest. Very uniform, with fine neck, and a smooth, yellowish skin. The shape is elongated and well proportioned. An enormous cropper; is firm, sweet and greedily eaten by cattle; fine keeper. Oz. 8c, % lb. 15c; lb. 50c Mangel Wurtzel Beets usually produce at least 1000 bushels per acre. They require very litthe care, are easily harvested and greedily eaten by stock.
