Inmate is trying to better himself and increase the chances of becoming a contributing member of society once he gets out. Various education classes at various levels are typically offered at US prisons. The thing if though that the number of participants in each class is severely limited. In Nebraska for instance image can have to wait 5 years ir making it impossible for them to take education elsewhere like a Communiyu College!
