Sugg—lempa Sugg, nee Spinks,was born Ocober 18, 1813, and diedMarch 12, 1910, aged 96 years, 4months and 24 days. Early in lifeshe became a Christian and joined Methodist Episcopal Church, inthe southeastern portion of RandolphCounty. She remembered many of theold pioneer preachers of that commun-ity and used to speak of one of theearly bishops who attended a camp-meeting at \his old church and whocame into the tent where she was—just a girl—and patted her on thehead, making himself sociable andkind. She was married to M. A. Suggmany years ago, who died in this union were born six children,two girls and four boys, only one ofwhom is living, Lewis O. Sugg. Thehome of this good woman has beenlike an oasis in a desert to many,many preachers of all doors were open to them, and herheart too.
