This switch also connects theaerial to earth for protection against lightning. The type I aerial changeover switch furnished with this set is fully described in Para-graph 155. This switch in the transmitting position: (1) Closes the alternating current circuit to the transformer; (2) Closes the field circuit to the generator; (3) Disconnects the aerial from the receiving tuner primary; (4) Places the detector, head telephone and secondary of the receiving tuneron short circuit.
