Honeybee brood frame. Beekeeper holding a brood frame from a honeybee (Apis mellifera) hive. The brood frame contains brood comb, a structure consisting of cells made from wax secreted by the bees's bodies. The cells are used to store honey and maturing bee pupae. The cells covered by a white wax substance contain honey while the yellow cells in the middle of the frame contain the bee pupae. The honey in this frame is not collected by the beekeeper.
