Zanskar is a valley which lies in the eastern half of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Together with the neighboring region of Ladakh, Zanskar was briefly a part of the kingdom of Guge in Western Tibet. Zanskar is home of small villages and isolated monasteries. Its administrative center is a village named Padum. Reru is located 2 hours drive West of Padum. Muney Gompa is a large monastery which includes a school.
