It was with deep regret that we received notice of the death, on February 17th last, of Mr. Alex. .Schroeder, of Trieste, a reader and contributor to the " ; for many years. Mr. Schroeder was fond of travelling, and always managed to find out bee-men in whatever country he visited. An account of his visit to Roman bee-keepers appeared in " ; of June 23rd, 1910, and in January last year, at the close of a tour round the world, he described some Japanese apiaries he had seen while in Japan.
