Wire-crested thorntail (Discosura popelairii) perching on a leaf. This hummingbird is one of the smallest birds in the world. Adults of both sexes have coppery green upperparts with a white band across the rump. Males have a glittery green crown with a thin hair-like crest. Photographed in the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador.
