For the extraction of dyes only black and red variants are used because their petals anthocyanin, malvidine, in large quantities. Earlier hereby wine or desserts were, for example, colored. Due to those contained in the hollyhock tannins and mucilage it is contained in numerous Cough mixtures. / , Schwarze Stockrose, Syn.: Althaea rosea, Stockmalve, Pappelrose, Bauernrose oder Garten-Stockrose. Wird als Heil- und Faerbepflanze angebaut. Fuer die Gewinnung von Farbstoffen werden nur schwarz-rote Varianten verwendet, da deren Kronblaetter Anthocyan, Malvidin, in grossen Mengen enthalten. Frueher wurden hiermit beispielsweise Wein oder Suessspeisen gefaerbt. Aufgrund der in der Stockrose enthaltenen Gerbstoffe und Schleimstoffe ist sie in zahlreichen Hustentee-Mischungen enthalten.
