Italian sundials. Sundials in Aiello del Friuli, a traditional village in north east Italy. Aiello is situated about 25 kilometres south-east of Udine in northern Italy, and many walls in the town are decorated with artistic sundials. Each year in spring there is a sundial festival in this town to announce the best new sundials. The sundial in the foreground, constructed in 2001, includes the motto 'Sine Sole Sileo' (without the Sun I fall silent). Other sundials are seen on the walls of the traditional house in the background.
