Business for Memorial day was the best the trade has ever experienced for that holiday. The stores were crowded all day Saturday, May 29, and plants, cut flowers and wreaths were in great demand. Stock was good and there was a fine assortment to choose from, in- cluding peonies, roses, carnations, snapdragons, lilies, mignonette, sweet peas, calendulas, yellow and white daisies and gladioli of the bridesmaid type. Plants were a good selling line, being used chiefly for the cemetery, the best sellers being geraniums, lobelias, marguerites, pansies and sweet alyssum. Various Notes. William Japp, of Lester Park, says that his business for Memorial day was bigger than ever, J. J. Le Borious says that business was extra good. He had a large assortment of plants, which found a ready sale; also a good cut of carnations. The Quality Flower Shop reports that business for Memorial day was exceed- ingly satisfactory. The Duluth Floral Co. reports a large business both in cut flowers and plants. Magnolia wreaths, clustered with oak leaves, cycas and flowers, found a ready sale. J. E. S. TORONTO, ONT. The Market. Business keeps up well, with a fair supply of flowers. There have been a number of funerals, with the conse- quent demand for design work. June is the month of weddings and Toronto has had its share. Many of these have been church weddings and florists have been doing considerable decorative work in addition to supplying bouquets. Another thing which has con- tributed to the demand for flowers is the graduation exercises of the various hospitals and universities. The convoca- tion at Toronto University was a large affair and one florist had an
