Wat Chana Songkhram Rachawora Mahawiharn dates from before 1782 when Bangkok became the capital of Siam (Thailand). King Rama I's brother, Mahasurasinghanart, renovated Wat Chana Songkhram more than 250 years ago in commemoration of his many victories over the Burmese.
