He came to Detroit in 1822 and before the forma-tion of the State constitution he had served with distinction in theterritorial council. Of his administration of his judicial office, thegreat Chancellor Kent said: The administration of justice in equityin Michigan under Chancellor Farnsworth is enlightened and correctand does distinguished honor to the State.
