Anne Hathaway's cottage at Shottery, Warwickshire, c1945-c1965. This 15th-century cottage is the birthplace of Anne Hathaway, who married William Shakespeare in 1582. It has been a place of literary and tourist interest from the mid-18th century and is reputed to be the place of William and Anne's courtship.
