In 7 Edward II., 1314, in the Octaves of Easter, there was afinal concord between Ralph the son of John de Whitemore andRoger the son of Roger de Swynnerton, concerning the manor ofWhitemore, whereof was plea. The complainant Ralph de Whitmoreacknowledged the said manor to belong to the deforciant Roger deSwynnerton as of the gift of complainant, and for this acknowledg-ment Roger de Swynnerton granted to the complainant the saidmanor to hold of him for ev^er, rendering a rose yearly, and perform-ing to the chief lords of the fee, on behalf of the deforciant, theservices appertaining, and if Ralph de Whitemore died withoutissue, then the manor of Whitmore was to revert to Roger de Swyn-nerton.^ This was the Roger de Swynnerton who subsequently becameso distinguished, and who was summoned to Parliament as a had a younger brother Richard de Swynnerton
