Recruits of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, wait to maneuver an obstacle during Confidence Course II at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 23. Recruits conducted fireman carries and buddy drags while waiting for their chance to tackle the obstacles. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate April 22.
