Tis Isat or Blue Nile waterfalls, Bahar Dar, Ethiopia, Africa. Local people go by boat on the Abay River next to the Blue Nile Falls. The Blue Nile Falls is a waterfall on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia. They are known as Tis Abay in Amharic, translated, meaning "steaming water." They are located on the upper reaches of the river, about 30 km downstream from the town of Bahir Dar and Tana Lake. The falls are considered one of the best tourist attractions in Ethiopia known.
