A room used for storing coffins in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. The photo is dated 28th april 1945, two weeks after its liberation. The camp's position in the west of Germany meant that thousands of people were sent there as the east fell. 18000 people died in March 1945 alone, and 10000 died in the two weeks after liberation. They died of disease and neglect rather than the systematic abuse seen elsewhere.
