Thaxted Morris Weekend_Thaxted Essex England_1-2 June 2024 Seen here: Sunday morning Processing to Thaxted Church for the traditional Sung Mass with members of all the Morris sides in attendance. The Abbots Bromley Horns are taken into the church before Cambridge Morris Side perform an Offertory Dance to the Glory of God. The Pipe and Tabor was played by Andy Richards from Cambridge and the side danced Pricess Royal in the style of Adderbury. Hundreds of Morris Men and Morris Women from across the UK decended on Thaxted in North West Essex and surrounding Villages to celebrate the 96th Morris Meeting hosted by the Thaxted Morris Men. Teams or sides traveled around NW Essex dancing in suares and pub car parks entertaining visitors and locals alike. For the past three years Ladies have been invited to participate either as part of a side or as a Ladies only side such as ‘Chelmsford Ladies’ and ‘Belles of London City’. In the early evening and late into the night Morris Dancers Processed through Town Street in Thaxted culminating with the traditional Abbots Bromley Horn Dance, performed in darkness aoart fronm one street light.
