The ladies' ball throwing contest gained the entire attendance of the ladies. Mrs. Gus Hartmann won first and Mrs. Schoel second. The novelty race for men was a great attraction, as every entry won a prize of some kind. The watermelon eating contest was won, as usual, by E. Schmidt, and W. A. Rowe was second. The babies' at- tendance prize was won by Helen Hart- mann, with A. Deutschmann second. The men's time walk contest drew many and was won by A. Meyer, Russell Stevens second. The clock guessing contest was won by L. Baumann. The prize for the best dancers was awarded to Harry Schlechter and Mrs. Wagner. The thirteen attendance prizes for growers were awarded as follows, in the order named: W. J. Pilcher, George Hartmann, Paul Ahner, Otto Ahner, William Meier, August Hartmann, Tom Kirkwood, H. Meier, Hugo C. Gross, L. Albrecht, R. Wolfsburger and W. J. Edwards. After the distribution of the prizes all had worked up a good appetite for dinner, and the rest of the evening was taken up by the younger folks. All had a most enjoyable time.
