Tubes and ovariesthe seat of numerous cysts, as shown in from the left ovary had a pedicle one inchand a half in length and was as large as asmall cherry. Cysts with shorter pedicles de-pended from the fallopian tubes. This patienthas been about the house since the fourth dayafter the DIAGRAM NO. 3 represents an ovarian cyst removed Sept. 9th,1885, followed by uninterrupted recovery. It wasunilocular, weighing eighteen pounds with con-tents. Its origin was clearly from the rightovary. The pedicle was long and narrow. Itresembled the cyst shown in No. 1 in everyrespect excepting size. Contents were albumin-ous fluid of yellowish brown color. It is to mehard to understand how a Graafian folliclecould be gradually distended with fluid to thisamount and slowly pushed away from theovary, making the long slender pedicle of thistumor. It is easier to believe the cyst develop-ed de novo, independent of any perversion ofthe functions of the Graafian follicle. These cysts, with diagrams, were shown by mebefore the Detroit Academy of Medicine in thecourse of remarks on abdominal section and ovar-ian tumors. Since then Dr. F. W. Owen, a well-known pathological anatomist of this city, hascalled my attention to two cases of small cystictumors of the broad ligament and fallopiant
