A Roman officer's spatha with ivory grip, 3rd/4th century A slender, double-edged blade with a quadrangular, reinforced thrusting point. Carved ivory grip made in three parts. The quillons have two cut humps and incised decoration on both sides. Grip has four grooves, and an oval pommel with a small iron, pommel nut. Length 80 cm. Complete, well-preserved Roman officer's weapon.
