A KC-46A Pegasus refuels on the flight line at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Oct. 25, 2021. When fully operational, the KC-46A will be able to refuel most fixed-wing, receiver-capable aircraft. The KC-46A refueling boom is driven by a fly-by-wire system and is controlled through the front of the aircraft, unlike the KC-135 Stratotanker where the boom is driven from the back of the aircraft.
