Wetherell, of Davenport., Iowa, who stated: " I se- lected on my Mapledale fruit farm, this year, ten stalks with one hundred and twenty-one (121) ears or an aver- age of twelve ears to the stalk, one stalk having nineteen ; Besides its very prolific character, we are much pleased with the corn in other respects. The stalks grow six feet high, and the ears are all large in size, with grains nearly clear white in color. An average ear measured six and a half inches long and contained 585 perfect kernels, while many ears reached eight inches in length. It pops pure paper-white, of fine quality. In competition for the prizes offered, Mr. A. J. Bates, Cawker City, Kansas, sent us a grand stalk bearing eighteen ears : Abram Spickerma2?, Bed Creek, Wayne Co., X. Y., won second prize, with a stalk bear- ing'fifteen ears ; and Mrs. George Miess, Brooklyn Station, Ontario, Canada, won third prize, also with fif- teen ears on a stalk. The above count includes the main stalk only, and all the above, together with other stalks sent by our customers, which, including suckers, bore nineteen and twenty ears from one grain planted, were exhibited at our warehouse. Never before have we known so remarkably prolific a corn. We offer the pure seed at lo cts. per package, or three packages for 25 cts.; per pint 25 cts.; per quart 45 cts., postpaid. QUEEN'S GOLDEN POP CORN, This handsome new Pop Corn was sent to us by a gar- dener in Indiana, who wrote: " It is so far ahead of all others that I have seen or tried, as to be beyond compari- son in every respect, in yield, handsome appearance, in sturdy growth,in size a
