The returns from the op- posite ends of house No. 1, and also those from No. 2 and No. 3, might be united into 1%-inch pipes and all of the returns could be connected with the boiler through a 2-inch main. We do not like anything smaller than 1-inch pipe for the coils and prefer 1^-inch for houses over fifty feet in length. The following arrangement of piping is suggested for each house: For each half of house No. 1, 21x34, we would use a 1%-inch main flow, carried about two feet below the ridge, with eleven 1-inch returns, placing six on the south wall. In each of the other houses the temperatures mentioned can be se- cured by using one 1%-inch flow pipe, as already suggested, and seven 1-inch re- turns. Of the returns we would use four on the north wall of houses 3 and 4, while in No. 2 we would use the odd re- turn on the south side, where there is a short section of exposed glass wall. If for any reason the overhead flow pipe is not desired, a 1^-inch flow may be placed upon each plate. CINCINNATI. The Market. Easter business was excellent and took everything in the market. More stock could have been used if it could have been obtained. Prices were good. When the warm weather is taken into con- sideration, stock, as a whole, wao re- markably good. The supply of roses is short of actual needs. The same is true of carnations. Easter lilies ran short for Easter, though many thousands of them could have been used if it had been possible to get them. These flowers were cut so closely for the day that they have been some- what short since. Sweet peas were in good supply and sold well. A limited amount of bulbous stock was avail- able. Snapdragons sold well an
