WOODS, rpHE annexed view of Bridge Street, formerly knownX as The Stream, or Watery way, is publishedby the permission of Messrs. Craddock, of the MarketPlace, Godalming. It is copied, in reduced size, froma photograph accidentally discovered by the writer ofthis paper, at Brighton, a few years after the destructionof the picturesque buildings visible on the left side ofstreet. The whole range was demolished circ. 1860,with the exception of the slip of building on theextreme left, viz., the end of a still existing housewhich stands at the upper end of the property. ThePublic Hall, lately incorporated in the municipal build-ings, was erected at the lower end, in the early sixties.
