COLORA RED YORK See full description on page 4. This is a fine, hardy, large, red winter apple. It suc- ceeds over a wide range of country. Comes into bearing at four years from planting, bears regularly and heav- ily. The foliage and fruit are remarkably free from scab. The fruit is of medium size, skin yellow and al- most wholly covered with two shades of red. Oct. 1st. ALBEMARLE or NEWTON PIPPIN Large, smooth skinned, beautifully colored yellow apple that usually brings the highest market price. Can only be grown successfully in certain sections of the country, principally in Virginia and New York in the east. Tree long lived and productive. This beautiful apple is gaining in popularity as it comes into fruiting more generally and has many points to recommend it as a profitable commercial variety. The trees resemble those of the old Staymans, are vigorous and productive. The apples average large to very large. The skin is smooth and colors a bright attractive red almost over the en- tire apple. The flesh is firm, similar to Staymans. The quality is good but cannot be classed as a high dessert apple being superior t
