The MV Hoy Head car ferry between Lyness on Hoy and Stromness on Mainland, Orkney.


MV Hoy Head is operated by Orkney Ferries as a ro-ro vehicle ferry between Houton on Mainland Orkney and Lyness in the south of Hoy; she also serves Flotta and Walls. The boat was built by Appledore Shipbuilders in North Devon in 1994 and in 2013 was lengthened at the Cammell Laird shipyard. She has a capacity of 125 passengers, 24 cars or about 100 tonnes.
