The tarns on the summit plateau of Haystacks, in the English Lake District
The craggy summit plateau of Haystacks in the English Lake District. The tarn in the foreground is unnamed while the one beyond is Innominate Tarn. Innominate Tarn was one of Alfred Wainwright's favourite locations and it is where his ashes were scattered. The shot was taken at sunset on a stormy autumn evening as the sun peeked through the clouds to turn the land red.
