First SpaceX rocket reuse, March 2017. Launch of the SES-10 communications satellite on a reusable Falcon 9 rocket by the private space transport company SpaceX. This was the first time a booster rocket of this type (orbital-class, first-stage) had been reflown in the history of rocketry. The main rocket stage had previously been used in April 2016 on Falcon 9 flight 23 to launch supplies to the International Space Station (ISS). It was successfully landed vertically on an autonomous spaceport drone ship (ASDS), refurbished and is seen being reused here for Falcon 9 flight 32. Following this second flight, it was again successfully landed and recovered. The booster (B1021) will be retired and put on display at Cape Canaveral.
