How at the Castle of Corbin a Maiden Bare in the Sangreal [Holy Grail] and Foretold the Achievements of Galahad.

This 1917 illustration by Arthur Rackham is titled "How at the Castle of Corbin a Maiden Bare in the Sangreal [ another name for Holy Grail] and Foretold the Achievements of Galahad." The Grail was a holy object, and, in the Christian religion, was often identified with the cup used by Jesus at the Last Supper. Galahad, the illegitimate son of Lancelot and Elaine, has the purity to achieve the Holy Grail, as is his destiny.
