Behind this is the Liverpool Empire Theatre, the largest two-tier auditorium in the United Kingdom seating 2,348 people, which opened in 1925. It was designed by W and T R Milburn for Moss Empires. The architectural style is Neoclassical, with single and paired Ionic stone columns. A poster on the wall indicates that the American group The Ink Spots were to appear at the venue.
