Pharmacy preparations, 16th-century artwork showing pharmacists (apothecaries) preparing treatments for patients. This artwork is from 'Ortus sanitatis', an early book on herbal medicine thought to be by the German physician Johann Wonnecke von Caub (active circa 1484, also known as Johannes de Cuba). This woodcut is from an edition published after 1500 in Strasbourg by the German printer Johann Reinhard Gruninger (circa 1455-1533).
