People keep a social distance in the park of the the water tower during the COVID-19 pandemic, Park am Wasserturm, Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin The Prenzlauer Berg water tower (called Dicker Hermann) was built in 1877, is the oldest surviving water tower in Berlin and is now luxury apartments. The ensemble of brick buildings includes the water tower, the deep tanks, riser tower, machine house II and float house. The machine house I of the Wasserturm was used for a short time as a small concentration camp in 1933.
