Fibrous hamartoma of infancy. Light micrograph of a section through soft tissue from a patient with fibrous hamartoma of infancy. This is a rare, benign (non-cancerous) subcutaneous or dermal tumour that usually occurs within the first two years of life. Treatment is with excision of the lesion, which rarely recurs. Magnification: x250 when printed at 10 centimetres wide. Human tissue.
