Afsana Akter, 19, gas pipe explosion burns at Ashkona in Dhaka City. She is now under treatment at the burns unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital in Bangladesh. On October 11, 2015 Fire Service Control Room Official Brojen Kumar Das said that the explosion happened around 7am at a house in Dhaka's Ashkona . “The gas pipe, connected to the kitchen’s stove, probably had a leak. When the connection was turned on by the house help a fire broke out after an explosion. The locals had already put out the fire by the time the fire services reached,” he told. The injured, that include four of a family and their house help, have been taken to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). The victims have been identified as Rehana Akter, 42, daughter Afsana Akter,19, sons Rezwan Ahmed, 18 and Tanvir Ahmed, 12, and the house help 'Sakhina', 42, said DMCH police outpost's Inspector Mozammel Haque. Akter's husband lives in Saudi Arabia, added the police officer.
