Breastfeeding, off to the best start with Nurse & Midwife Samantha Collins raising funds for Charity

10 Feb 2013 - Ordered to wear white, nurses at 15 area hospitals say the new scrubs will accentuate blood stains, reveal undergarments and turn yellow. The charity claims that the NHS could save around £40m a year if breastfeeding rates increased, as it reduces the risk of illnesses such as gastroenteritis and ear infection. The findings are outlined in UNICEF’s in-depth report, Preventing Disease and Saving Resources: potential contribution of increasing breastfeeding rates in the UK, which looked at how medical costs would be affected if UK breastfeeding uptake rates improved.
