A cross carved into a cactus at the ruins of the Hacienda de Cinco Señores at an abandoned mine in Mineral de Pozos, San Luis de la Paz, Mexico, November 27, 2008. Mineral de Pozos is a mining ghost town founded in 1576 by Spanish Jesuits monks to extract gold, silver and mercury. In the 1920's with the start of the Mexican Revolution the mines where abandoned leaving less than 200 people in the half of the XX century. Today approximately 5000 people live in a nearby settlement.
