King's Dyke is part of the Nene Ouse Navigation Link, the route from the Great Ouse system of west Norfolk and Cambridgeshire west through the Middle Level of Fenland to the River Nene at Peterborough. Narrowboats can travel on from there up the River Nene and reach the national canal system giving access to London, Birmingham and most major cities in the Midland and North of England.
