False-colour bubble chamber photograph of the production & decay of two charmed particles - particles containing a charm quark. An invisible photon has entered from the top, collided with a proton in the bubble chamber's liquid, & produced a neutral & a charged charmed particle. The neutr- al particle, probably a D-zero, is invisible, but reveals itself when it decays into two other part- icles - the inverted \V\" on the left. The charged charmed particle (top) travels about 2mm before it also decays - into three particles. The photo was taken at the Hybrid Facility bubble chamber at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, California."
