Reticular fibres in human pituitary gland, light micrograph

Reticular fibres in the anterior human pituitary gland, light micrograph. The anterior lobe of the hypophysis is a chord-type gland. The silver staining technique has been used to highlight reticular fibres and show the reticular lamina of the basement membrane that surrounds the glandular cell cords, highlighting the aforementioned cord pattern with great clarity. The connective tissue capsule that surrounds the anterior lobe is at top.
