A Celtic sword with scabbard,Central Europe,middle Latène period,3rd - 2nd century Lightly ridged blade with visible Damascus pattern. A struck mark(a man's head)on one side near the base of the blade. Characteristically curved guard. Slightly tapered tang with riveted oval top knob. Matching scabbard made of sheet iron with two chiselled ribs and a riveted suspension loop on the reverse side. Cleaned unearthed find,the scabbard slightly restored.
