Looking up at the nose of a United States Navy, F/A-18 'Hornet" just prior to it's launch from the deck of the conventional aircraft carrier USS INDEPENDENCE (CV 62). The Independence and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Five (CVW5) will relieve the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) already on station in the Persian Gulf.
