Hundreds of high school students from ACORN High School for Social Justice march to raise awareness to reduce neighborhood violence in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick on Friday March 27 2009 Students are calling for statewide legislation to create a non violence awareness week in all public schools and an annual day of remembrance for all victims of violence Students wore tee shirts to represent the national statistic that one out of every four individuals will be a victim or perpetrator of violence Seventy five percent wore violet T shirts and 25 percent wore purple tee shirts Frances M Roberts
