A red female Eclectus Parrot (Eclectus roratus) in its enclosure at the East Coast Natureworld, Tasmania's natural wildlife and Ecology park in Bicheno on the eastern coast of Tasmania, Australia. The parrot was hunted for their plumage but is now highly sought after as pets as they are noted for their excellent mimics of human speech, whistles and laughs. Their natural habitat is being destroyed such as deforestation and logging of their nest trees is the major cause for their population decline.
