The repeating pattern alternates between a hanging flower on a curved stem and a c-volute or a faint s-volute. The flower shapes are alternately pear-shaped, three-lobed and oval-shaped. The motifs are placed close to each other and connected by a fine grid ground, the Mechelen ground. The motifs are made in linen and net strokes, with clotted relief contours.
