Pillement is one of the artists whose motifs are most frequently reproduced, representative of a distinct French elegance. The first factory to use this type of decoration was that of la veuve Perrin in Marseille. Rooms commissioned by rich clients were created using Pillement's fine designs, however rooms of this kind, decorated using this form of design, were extremely rare. A plate forming part of the collection entitled "AU BALLON," belonging to Mr Léon Barthou was sold to Hôtel Drouot over the 8th, 9th and 10th May 1935 in Paris.
